Att Connectech - Scammed by a connectech employee
Solution: Restitution of four thousand dollars from ATT
I contacted connectech to fix a problem with my email. The technician that helped me said the problem was more difficult tha connectech could handle. He gave me the phone number of another company who could help me. They
Supposedly fixed the problem ,charged me $200 to fix it and also installed something on my computer to monitor it for issues.
They said I had a year guarantee.
Four months later they contact me again, saying there is a breach in my computer security. They would fix it. They spent 2 days on my computer and then told me I would need to go to Target to get gift cards to install a new IP address. Sounded suspicious but they were very convincing. I purchased 4 thousand dollars in Target gift cards and they wanted 4 thousand more. By then I called
my bank and they convinced me it was a scam. There was no initial $200 charge on my credit card so nothing to trace. I've spent hours on the phone with ATT and no one has heard of Connectech. Reporting it to Connectech in India is usless, like talking to a rock.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.

You are a dumb f* to even use AT&T connectech. They are the legalized version of scammers.
If you can't fix your petty issues in your computer just by googling, or contacting your computer vendor.
Maybe you shouldn't have it. Dont use a computer.
That is very unkind. Do you understand about every piece of equipment in your home or office. Just to say one cannot fix a problem does not mean they don't deserve help.
